The Jackson City Council addressed several key issues in its latest meeting, including road improvements for a new Chick-fil-A, which will contribute $350,000 to the project. Instead of requiring the restaurant to manage congestion independently, the city and Chick-fil-A agreed to enhance local roads.
The council also amended a design contract for the Great Wolf Lodge project to incorporate an archeological survey as required by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, with no expected delays. Additionally, a section of North Hayes Avenue will be renamed Dr.
Melvin Wright Sr. Boulevard. The council approved a 2.5% salary increase for the mayor, effective July 2027, while a proposal to raise council member salaries was denied.
