Japan Monitors Russian Spy Ship Near Southwestern Islands

The Japanese Ministry of Defense confirmed a Russian Navy Vishnya-class intelligence ship operated near Yonaguni and Miyako Islands from January 13 to 15, 2023. The Maritime Self-Defense Force used the destroyer Ikazuchi and P-1 and P-3C patrol aircraft for monitoring.
