JBS Biopower Transforms 50 Million Liters of Used Cooking Oil into Biodiesel through Óleo Amigo Program
JBS Biopower has converted 50 million liters of used cooking oil into biodiesel over the past decade through its Óleo Amigo program. By March 2026, the program preserved 1 trillion liters of water and reached a peak collection of 11.3 million liters in 2025, driven by expansion in Mato Grosso. The operation has prevented approximately 9 million tons of CO₂ emissions and supports local restaurants with reliable oil collection services.
JBS Biopower's Óleo Amigo program has achieved a milestone by converting 50 million liters of used cooking oil into biodiesel over the last decade. By March 2026, the initiative preserved 1 trillion liters of water and collected a record 11.3 million liters of oil in 2025, largely due to expansion into Mato Grosso.
The program's three plants have an annual biodiesel production capacity exceeding 900 million liters and have mitigated around 9 million tons of CO₂ emissions. The Óleo Amigo program operates in over 115 municipalities across five Brazilian states, providing scheduled oil collection to local restaurants.
