The Jersey government has approved the sale of a taxpayer-owned five-bedroom house with a swimming pool for £790,000, as it was deemed a financial burden. Initially listed at £850,000, the property was re-marketed after a previous offer fell through, with the Minister for Infrastructure noting that the new offer reflects its condition and needed restoration. The house, purchased for £225,000 in 1991, was previously designated for use by the Territorial Army.

The Jersey government has agreed to sell a taxpayer-owned five-bedroom house with a swimming pool for £790,000, deemed a financial burden. Initially listed for £850,000 after a previous offer of £800,000 fell through in November 2025, the property was re-marketed.
The Minister for Infrastructure, Andy Jehan, stated that the new offer reflects the property's condition and necessary investment for restoration. The house was purchased by the States in 1991 for £225,000 and later designated for use by the Territorial Army.
Government documents indicate that the average price for a four-bedroom house in Q3 2025 was £1,280,000. Jehan has authorized relevant officials to finalize the sale contract.
