Jerusalem Launches Accelerator to Enhance Defense-Tech Ecosystem
Jerusalem has initiated an accelerator program aimed at strengthening its defense-tech sector, supported by major entities including the Defense Ministry. This initiative is a strategic part of a broader goal to position Jerusalem as a national innovation hub across various sectors.

The Jerusalem Development Authority (JDA) is spearheading a new accelerator in collaboration with the Defense Ministry's Directorate of Defense Research and Development, among other partners. The program aims to support start-ups addressing operational challenges identified by defense companies, with at least 50% of participants required to be based in Jerusalem.
Under a matching-funds mechanism, the JDA will invest up to NIS 2 million per venture, with proposals due by August 17, 2026. In the first half of 2026, Israel's defense-tech start-ups raised nearly $3 billion, with defense exports reaching a record $19.2 billion for 2025. This accelerator is expected to enhance the integration of military R&D and private-sector innovation, bolstering economic resilience and security in both Jerusalem and Israel.
