The company aims to leverage its hydrogen technology expertise in cryogenic systems for this national-level research platform, expanding its business beyond hydrogen production.
Jiangsu Guofu Hydrogen Energy Equipment (Guofuhee) is entering the nuclear fusion sector after winning RMB 3.2m ($456,000) for a project focused on cryogenic systems at the Institute of Plasma Physics, Hefei Institutes of Physical Science. The firm, known for its hydrogen liquefaction technologies, aims to integrate its capabilities in producing key components for low-temperature nuclear fusion. Following a significant breakthrough in fusion research by US scientists in 2022, Guofuhee plans to exploit synergies between hydrogen energy and nuclear fusion, potentially creating new revenue streams.
