Jinju City Marks First Anniversary of KAI Rotary Wing Flight Center as Aerospace Industry Hub
Jinju City celebrated the first anniversary of the KAI Rotary Wing Flight Center, emphasizing its significance as a pivotal asset for the local aerospace sector. The center, which supports helicopter development for the Marine Corps and Navy, received a KRW 47.5 billion investment and aims to expand into UAVs and future air vehicles, with total investments projected to reach KRW 100 billion. The city plans to attract aviation-related agencies to enhance industrial integration and create job opportunities for youth.

Jinju City announced the achievements of the KAI Rotary Wing Flight Center on its first anniversary, highlighting its role as crucial infrastructure for the local aerospace industry. Completed in December 2024, the center supports Marine Corps and Navy helicopter development through test flights, performance verification, and safety assessments.
KAI invested approximately KRW 47.5 billion in the Gasan General Industrial Complex for the center, with total investments expected to reach KRW 100 billion including future land acquisitions. Jinju City plans to expand industrial activities to include UAVs and future air vehicles (AAVs) and will attract aviation-related government agencies to enhance industrial integration. The city aims to create jobs for young people and boost local industry competitiveness centered around the flight center.
