Jordan Government Unveils $11 Billion Strategic Projects and Healthcare Initiatives for 2026

Jordan's Prime Minister Jafar Hassan announced a comprehensive government programme launching soon, focused on job creation and sustainable income for youth. The plan includes $11 billion in strategic projects beginning in 2026, covering sectors such as water, energy, transport, tourism, and construction.

Notably, the government aims to provide healthcare for over four million citizens at the King Hussein Cancer Centre, with an allocated budget of approximately JOD124 million this year. Hassan highlighted field visits to 130 sites across Jordan in 2025, confirming progress in addressing local challenges.

The National Water Carrier Project, with financing over $5 billion, is set to commence implementation by the end of Q1 2026, delivering 300 million cubic meters of desalinated water annually. The Risha gas project is also underway to meet 80% of natural gas needs by 2030. The government emphasizes a focus on economic modernization and public accountability.
