Joshua Clift Appointed to Sterling City Council, Ward 2 Vacancies Filled
Joshua Clift's appointment fills the last vacant seat in Sterling's Ward 2 following multiple resignations. The council also addressed infrastructure and local governance issues, impacting community services and municipal operations.

On April 28, Joshua Clift was appointed to fill the vacant Ward 2 seat on the Sterling City Council. This vacancy arose after John Haynie's resignation in January due to health issues and was compounded by Kellan Raffaeli's resignation before the April 14 meeting.
The council's prior interviews did not yield an appointment until Clift was unanimously chosen after a withdrawal by Tom Trout. Additionally, Xcel Energy announced a natural gas line replacement project in Sterling's northeast area, set to commence soon.
A public meeting regarding this project will be held in late May or early June. The council also approved several ordinances and agreements, including a fee amendment for marijuana licenses and an updated intergovernmental agreement with the Colorado Department of Transportation for highway maintenance. The council anticipates the completion of the gas line work before school resumes in August, enhancing community safety.
