Julius Rone Named New Telegraph Personality of the Year 2025 for Gas Sector Impact
Julius Rone, CEO of UTM Offshore, has been named New Telegraph Personality of the Year 2025 for his significant impact on Nigeria's gas sector, particularly through the Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) project. The initiative, backed by President Bola Tinubu's administration, aims to produce 1.5 million tonnes of LNG and 300,000 tonnes of LPG annually, utilizing substantial gas reserves over two decades. Rone's leadership has attracted $2 billion in funding for Phase One and an additional $3 billion for Phase Two, showcasing strong investor confidence in sustainable development.

His company is leading the Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) project, expected to produce 1.5 million tonnes of LNG annually and 300,000 tonnes of LPG for domestic use.
Supported by President Bola Tinubu's administration, the project involves strategic partnerships with NNPCL and Delta State Government. The facility, located in Oil Mining Lease 104, will utilize 2.2 trillion cubic feet of gas reserves over 20 years.
UTM Offshore secured $2 billion from Afreximbank for Phase One, with an additional $3 billion for Phase Two, reflecting strong investor confidence. Rone's leadership emphasizes global standards and sustainable development.
