KBC Corp Ltd is pivoting from photovoltaic manufacturing to advanced carbon materials, notably carbon-ceramic brake discs and carbon paper for hydrogen fuel cells. This strategic shift is expected to significantly enhance revenue and market position in the automotive sector.

KBC Corp Ltd's transition from traditional photovoltaic products to advanced carbon materials is reshaping its financial landscape. In 2023, revenue from photovoltaic products was 990 million yuan, projected to drop to 175 million yuan by 2025, while transportation and lithium-battery sectors surged to 615 million yuan, constituting 76.6% of total revenue.
KBC holds over 80% of China's carbon-ceramic brake market, with plans to double its annual production capacity from 400,000 discs. Additionally, its carbon paper for hydrogen fuel cells has shown promising results in customer tests, with expectations to capture a larger market share by 2030. Analysts anticipate the carbon-ceramic brake market in China will grow from 7.9 billion yuan in 2025 to 21.5 billion yuan by 2030, making KBC's advancements critical for competitiveness.
