Keel Laying Ceremony for Dredge DONNELLY Completed by Eastern Shipbuilding Group and USACE
On January 22, 2026, Eastern Shipbuilding Group, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Royal IHC held a keel laying ceremony for the Dredge DONNELLY at Eastern's Allanton Facility. Construction began in April 2025 to replace the Dredge McFARLAND, supporting USACE's navigation mission. The new hopper dredge is scheduled for service in Fiscal Year 2028.

Eastern Shipbuilding Group (ESG) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), along with Royal IHC, conducted a keel laying ceremony for the Dredge DONNELLY on January 22, 2026, at ESG's Allanton Facility.
The Medium Class Hopper Dredge has been under construction since April 2025 and will replace the Dredge McFARLAND. The dredge is essential for USACE’s navigation mission and will be operational by Fiscal Year 2028. The design and modular construction are being coordinated with USACE Marine Design Center and Royal IHC.
