Keller Army Community Hospital's Project MARS Receives FAA Approval for Drone Medical Deliveries
Keller Army Community Hospital (KACH) has obtained FAA authorization for its drone delivery program, Project MARS, allowing Visual Line of Sight operations across West Point until January 2028. The program, in collaboration with the US Military Academy’s Robotics Research Center, aims to enhance military medical logistics and provide training for KACH soldiers and USMA Cadets. Initial flights will focus on route reconnaissance and system validation under strict safety protocols.

Keller Army Community Hospital has secured FAA approval for its drone delivery program, Project MARS, authorized on January 8, 2026. This allows KACH to conduct Visual Line of Sight drone flights across West Point until January 2028.
The West Point Garrison Commander granted additional approval on January 20. The initiative, developed with the US Military Academy’s Robotics Research Center, aims to improve military medical logistics and train personnel.
Initial flights will validate communication stability and environmental factors, adhering to strict safety protocols. The program is progressing towards operational capabilities, enhancing patient care and logistics.
