Kentucky Grants $10M to University of Louisville for Cybersecurity Center

DEFENSE

Kentucky allocated $10 million to the University of Louisville for a new cybersecurity center, which will feature a cyber range and secure facilities for sensitive data. The center aims to enhance education, research, and workforce training, developed in collaboration with Murray State University.

Planned facilities include a secure computing enclave and a SCIF. The funding will also provide staff for operations. The university has previously received federal grants for cybersecurity initiatives, including a $6.3 million NSA award for a healthcare cybersecurity curriculum. U of L is recognized as a center of academic excellence in cyber defense by the NSA.
