Kerala Allocates ₹200 Crore to Enhance Aviation Sector Development

Kerala's revised Budget includes a ₹200 crore allocation to enhance the general aviation sector across its four international airports. This funding will support initiatives such as the establishment of pilot training centers, the expansion of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facilities, and the creation of a Green Hydrogen Hub and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
The MRO infrastructure expansion is projected to improve aircraft maintenance capabilities, while CIAL's 4 MW green hydrogen project highlights advancements in sustainable aviation. The investment is expected to create around 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, leveraging aviation's employment multiplier effect of 6.1 in related industries.
