Kerala Launches Distribution of 2,500 Advanced Robotics Kits to Public Schools
The Kerala Minister for General Education, V. Sivankutty, inaugurated the distribution of 2,500 advanced robotics kits to public schools, enhancing robotics education in the state. The initiative, implemented by Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE), aims to equip all high schools with these kits.
The programme commenced with the presentation of kits to Little KITEs IT Club members from six schools in Thiruvananthapuram. KITE has previously distributed 29,000 kits, and with robotics now included in the Class X ICT curriculum, over 400,000 students are benefiting.
The new kits, which include an ESP32-based development board and various sensors, will enable students to create IoT-based devices and learn programming in languages like Block Coding, Python, and C. The distribution is set to conclude during the Little KITEs district camps on February 7 and 8.
