Kinova Launches KIMA Medical Robotic Arm on 20th Anniversary
Kinova has launched KIMA, a medical robotic arm designed for clinical use, marking its 20th anniversary. This product aims to enhance surgical precision and versatility in medical environments.

Kinova's KIMA robotic arm, unveiled at the Society of Robotic Surgery 2026 Annual Meeting, is engineered for clinical applications, including endoscopy and complex surgeries. It adheres to IEC 62304 Class C software and ISO 14971 safety standards, featuring a 3 kg payload and a lightweight design under 13 kg.
This allows medical device manufacturers to expedite the development of advanced medical systems. The introduction of KIMA signifies a strategic shift towards high-precision medical robotics, aligning closely with the needs of healthcare providers and patients.
