Kitsault Energy Proposes Partnership with India to Enhance Energy Security and Environmental Outcomes
Dr. Krishnan Suthanthiran proposes a partnership between India and Kitsault Energy (KE) aimed at addressing India's energy security and environmental challenges. This collaboration could potentially save India billions in energy imports while improving air quality.
Suthanthiran, who has engaged with Indian energy organizations over 13 years, previously presented the KE proposal at an energy summit in Vancouver in 2016. The KE project involves dual pipelines for transporting crude oil and natural gas to Observatory Inlet in British Columbia.
The natural gas is intended for butanol production, a cleaner fuel that can significantly reduce automobile pollution. The proposed Kitsault port would allow India direct access to Canadian energy supplies, addressing the constraints posed by limited export routes. This partnership could lead to substantial cost savings and environmental benefits for India.
