Kongsberg Breaks Ground on Missile Production Facility in James City County, VA
Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace has officially broken ground on its Missile Manufacturing and Maintenance Facility in James City County, Virginia, which is set to create 180 jobs and will manufacture naval and joint strike missiles. Production is anticipated to begin in late 2027, with full capacity by 2028, following a multi-year contract awarded by the U.S. Navy. The project, supported by state grants, is expected to generate over $100 million in economic benefits and will be Kongsberg's largest facility outside of Norway.
