Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) invites President Hakainde Hichilema to officiate the first mining blast under the Konkola Deep Mining Project (KDMP) at 1,390 meters. This blast is vital for accessing deep ore reserves with an estimated copper grade of 3.3%. The KDMP, a $700 million investment, aims to enhance Zambia's copper production and includes significant infrastructure improvements.

Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) is set to conduct its first mining blast at the 1,390-meter level under the Konkola Deep Mining Project (KDMP), an important step in accessing deep ore reserves with an estimated copper grade of 3.3%. KCM has invited President Hakainde Hichilema to officiate this event, which follows his visit to KCM's exhibition at the Zambia International Mining and Energy Conference.
The KDMP represents an investment exceeding $700 million and is integral to KCM's strategy to expand mining operations. Key developments include dewatering works by Mancala and a high-speed underground rail system by Flint, along with modern automated raise-boring machines to enhance safety and productivity.
