Korea Aerospace Industries Set to Deliver First KF-21 Boramae Fighters to ROKAF in 2026
Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) is preparing to deliver the first production KF-21 Boramae fighter jets to the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) in 2026. The KF-21, a fifth-generation stealth fighter, features a low-observable design and is part of South Korea's push for indigenous military capabilities. The initial delivery will consist of Block I aircraft optimized for air-to-air missions, with a total of 20 units ordered by the ROKAF.

Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) is set to deliver the first production KF-21 Boramae fighter jets to the ROKAF in 2026. The KF-21, developed under the Korean Fighter eXperimental project, incorporates features that bridge 4.5 and 5th-generation capabilities.
It made its maiden flight on July 19, 2022, after years of delays. The first serial-production aircraft will be Block I, focused on air-to-air missions, with future Block II variants planned. A total of 20 KF-21 units have been ordered, marking a significant step in South Korea's defense capabilities.
