Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) hosted a seminar in Bangkok with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) to advance small modular reactor (SMR) cooperation. This event followed a memorandum of understanding signed in June 2025.

Around 80 experts attended, including officials from Thailand's Energy Ministry and representatives from Korean nuclear companies such as Korea Electric Power Corp E&C and Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute. Discussions included energy policies, the status of innovative SMR technologies, and safety measures. KHNP plans to aid Thailand's energy transition and expand SMR business opportunities in the ASEAN region.
