Korean Domestic Builders Achieve $47.2 Billion in Overseas Construction Orders in 2025
In 2025, South Korean construction firms secured $47.27 billion in overseas orders, the highest figure in 11 years and the first time since 2015 that annual orders exceeded $40 billion. This growth was significantly fueled by an $18.7 billion contract for the Czech Dukovany nuclear power plant, contributing to a 298% increase in European orders year-over-year. Overall, overseas orders rose by 27% from the previous year, with industrial facilities making up 74.6% of total contracts.

In 2025, domestic construction companies in Korea recorded overseas construction orders totaling $47.27 billion, the highest in 11 years. This marks the first instance since 2015 that annual orders surpassed $40 billion.
The increase was largely driven by an $18.7 billion project for the Czech Dukovany nuclear power plant, the second-largest overseas construction order in history. European orders surged by 298% year-over-year to $20.16 billion, accounting for 42.6% of total orders.
The Middle East accounted for $11.9 billion (25.1%), followed by North America and Pacific ($6.8 billion, 14.3%), Asia ($6.4 billion, 13.6%), Central and South America ($1.4 billion, 2.9%), and Africa ($700 million, 1.5%). Industrial facilities represented 74.6% of total orders, with a notable shift towards high-value-added projects. Overall, overseas orders increased by 27% compared to the previous year.
