Kpler Launches Maritime Intelligence Protocol for Government and Defense Users
Kpler has launched a model context protocol (MCP) designed to improve maritime intelligence for government and defense users, focusing on lithium trades to China. The platform offers insights into shipment volumes, vessel activity, and future arrivals, while a three-year analysis revealed nearly 8 million metric tons of lithium entering China, with over 10 percent annual growth. Kpler aims to enhance decision-making for defense and intelligence agencies by utilizing commercial data and engaging with military stakeholders for future improvements.

Kpler introduced a model context protocol (MCP) to enhance maritime intelligence access for government and defense users. The platform identifies lithium trades to China, including shipment volumes and vessel activity.
It can generate dashboards for future shipments, such as those arriving in December 2025, along with risk and compliance status. An analysis over three years showed nearly 8 million metric tons of lithium entering China from over 2,300 trades, with over 10 percent year-over-year growth.
Kpler aims to assist defense and intelligence agencies in utilizing commercial data for decision-making, reducing analytic cycle times and improving decision quality. Structured engagements with military and intelligence stakeholders will guide future enhancements.
