Kraft Heinz has halted its plan to split into two companies, aligning with a trend among major corporations to withdraw from restructuring efforts. DuPont announced in January 2025 that it will not separate its water business but will proceed with the spinoff of its electronics sector.
Telefonica's CEO confirmed in July 2025 that the plan to spin off Virgin Media O2's fixed network in Britain has been scrapped. Bayer deferred plans to break apart for three years in March 2024. Teck Resources abandoned its copper and coal business separation in April 2023 to counter a $22.5 billion takeover attempt from Glencore, while EY also called off its audit and consulting unit separation. Gap scrapped its Old Navy spin-off in January 2020 to focus on improving sales.
