Kyrgyzstan Launches First Phase of ROX Issyk-Kul Solar Power Plant
The first phase of the ROX Issyk-Kul solar power plant, with a capacity of 175 MWp, has been commissioned in Kyrgyzstan, representing a $131 million investment. This project highlights Kyrgyzstan's commitment to renewable energy and aims to reduce dependence on hydropower while creating local employment opportunities.

The ROX Issyk-Kul solar power plant's first phase, featuring a capacity of 175 MWp, was commissioned with an investment of $131 million. This project is part of a larger initiative, with an estimated total investment of $1.5 billion for a future capacity of 1,900 MWp.
The plant has already contributed 28.7 million kWh to the grid and is expected to generate 295 million kWh annually upon full operation. It will save up to 362 million cubic meters of water yearly in the Toktogul Reservoir and is intended to diversify energy sources in Kyrgyzstan.
The construction generated over 250 jobs and will create around 150 permanent positions. ROX Group will also contribute to local municipalities through revenue sharing from electricity sales.
