DEFENSE

The Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan has acquired 81 new vehicles financed by the state budget. The delivery ceremony included Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev, who stated that the upgrade aims to improve the Armed Forces' mobility and combat readiness.

The Armed Forces budget has increased by over 300% since 2018-2019, funding the modernization of equipment and infrastructure. The new fleet includes 36 Chevrolet Cobalt vehicles, 19 JAC T-6 pickup trucks, 18 Gazelle vans, five crew buses, and three JAC Sunray minibuses, with some produced locally at Tulpar Motors.

Additionally, the Ministry has advanced digitalization efforts and is enhancing social protections for military personnel, including increased rent compensation and housing options. An electronic military registration system is being piloted, with further implementation planned by March.
