L3Harris Converts Bombardier Jets for South Korea's AEW&C Program
L3Harris has initiated the conversion of two Bombardier Global Express 6500 jets into Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft for South Korea. The project involves four jets for the Republic of Korea Air Force, integrating an IAI-Elta AESA radar system. The bid was won in September 2025, with L3Harris partnering with Korean Air and Bombardier.

L3Harris has begun converting two Bombardier Global Express 6500 jets into Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft for South Korea's Republic of Korea Air Force. The contract, won in September 2025, involves a total of four jets, with mission system integration already underway.
The aircraft will feature an IAI-Elta Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar system for comprehensive coverage. L3Harris is also offering the AERIS platform in two versions: AERIS-X based on the Global Express 6500 and AERIS-A based on the Gulfstream G550, though the latter is no longer in production.
