L3Harris Technologies will sell a 60% stake in its space propulsion and power systems business to AE Industrial Partners for $845 million, including debt. This sale is part of L3Harris' strategy to concentrate on defense capabilities amid geopolitical uncertainties.

L3Harris will maintain ownership of the RS-25 rocket engine used in NASA's Artemis program. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2026 and will support the development of advanced propulsion technologies, such as nuclear propulsion for Mars exploration. AE Industrial has previously invested in companies like Firefly Aerospace and RedWire Space.
