LAD Services is partnering with Path Robotics to implement Physical AI for welding in its shipbuilding operations, responding to a shortage of skilled welders and increased demand for specialized vessels. The integration of Path's technology is expected to halve barge production time while ensuring precision and quality.

LAD had previously considered custom robotic solutions but found them inadequate for the complexities of shipbuilding. Path's AI-powered welding cells can manage high-mix welding tasks that require human expertise, enhancing production capacity without compromising safety. The partnership will be showcased at the International WorkBoat Show in New Orleans, LA, starting December 3rd.
