Lake Lure Announces Soft Opening Following Hurricane Recovery
Lake Lure, North Carolina, is set for a phase one soft opening on April 20, post-Hurricane Helene recovery. The lake will be fully operational by Memorial Weekend, with public events planned to celebrate.

Lake Lure will initiate a soft opening on April 20 following extensive recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene. The lake is currently a no wake zone to ensure safety as debris removal continues, with a total of 1.1 million tons of sediment having been cleared by the Army Corps of Engineers.
Public access is restricted to private launches only; town-owned ramps remain under construction, expected to be completed by July. Full operations will resume by Memorial Weekend, accompanied by community events to mark the occasion. These preparations aim to enhance the lake's resilience against future storms.
