Launch of World's First Global Hydrogen Supply Chain Demonstration Project
The Advanced Hydrogen Energy Chain Association for Technology Development (AHEAD) has initiated the Global Hydrogen Supply Chain Demonstration Project. Funded by NEDO, the project aims to establish a hydrogen supply chain utilizing the Organic Chemical Hydride Method, focusing on decarbonization at petroleum refineries.

AHEAD has launched a Global Hydrogen Supply Chain Demonstration Project, backed by NEDO funding. The initiative will showcase the Hydrogen Supply Chain using the Organic Chemical Hydride Method. Chiyoda Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsui & Co., Ltd., and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha have formed an agreement with ENEOS Corporation to deliver hydrogen from Brunei to support refinery decarbonization trials.
This project represents a significant step towards large-scale hydrogen energy utilization, aligning with global decarbonization efforts. The success of this model could influence future energy policies and investments in hydrogen technology.
