LazerBuzz Enhances Laser Weapon Range to 1.5 km
LazerBuzz has successfully extended the range of its laser directed energy weapon to 1.5 km, enhancing its operational capabilities. This development is significant for military applications, particularly in countering UAV threats.

LazerBuzz has increased the operational range of its laser directed energy weapon (LDEW) to 1.5 km, as reported on 9 April 2026. The LDEW can engage unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) traveling at speeds up to 140 km/h, and is integrated with an unnamed radar system.
Additionally, the company is collaborating with a local manufacturer to develop an acoustic sensor system for modernization projects pertaining to laser countermeasures for FPV drones. The weapon utilizes a fibre-optic laser capable of reaching high temperatures upon impact, which varies based on several factors including distance and material type. This advancement may enhance military effectiveness against aerial threats.
