Lebanese Army Receives Donation for Demining from EU via UNDP
The Lebanese Army received a donation from the European Union, facilitated by UNDP, aimed at enhancing demining efforts. This support is crucial for improving safety measures against unexploded ordnance, thereby increasing civilian protection and stability in Lebanon.
A donation aimed at bolstering the Lebanese Army's humanitarian demining capabilities was received during a ceremony at the Logistic Brigade Headquarters in Kfarchima. The event featured attendees including the EU Ambassador to Lebanon, Ms.
Sandra De Waele, and UNDP Resident Representative, Ms. Blerta Aliko. Ambassador De Waele highlighted the EU's commitment to humanitarian demining operations and cooperation with Lebanese authorities.
Ms. Aliko emphasized the donation's role in improving safety against unexploded ordnance. Brigadier General Haidar Skineh concluded the event by expressing appreciation to the EU and UNDP for their support during this critical time. This initiative may enhance operational effectiveness and public safety in Lebanon.
