Leonardo Signs LOI with Indonesia for M-346F Aircraft Supply and Support
Leonardo, PT ESystem Solutions Indonesia, and Indonesia's Ministry of Defence have signed a Letter of Intent for the supply and support of M-346F aircraft to enhance the Indonesian Air Force's training and combat capabilities. The agreement aims to modernize Indonesia's aircraft fleet, replacing older models like the Hawk. It includes localization of maintenance, training, and support capabilities. The M-346F Block 20 will provide advanced training and light combat roles in one platform, with discussions for a procurement contract to follow.

At the Singapore Airshow 2026, Leonardo signed a Letter of Intent with PT ESystem Solutions Indonesia and the Ministry of Defence of Indonesia to supply M-346F 'Block 20' aircraft for the Indonesian Air Force. This agreement follows the MoD's selection of the M-346 to enhance training and combat capabilities and supports Indonesia's fleet modernization plan, replacing aging models like the Hawk.
The LOI includes localization of maintenance and training capabilities. The M-346F Block 20 will feature advanced technology for both training and combat roles, with a focus on operational flexibility. The next phase will involve discussions aimed at finalizing a procurement contract.
