Liberty Energy Ships Frack Sand to Australia's Beetaloo Basin for Gas Extraction
NATURAL GAS
Liberty Energy Inc. transported 45 million pounds of frack sand from California to Australia's Beetaloo Basin in late 2024. The sand will be mixed with high-pressure fluids for natural gas extraction through fracking.
As global demand for natural gas rises, countries like Saudi Arabia and Argentina are adopting US fracking techniques, with Saudi Aramco investing over $100 billion in the Jafurah shale gas field. Goldman Sachs estimates that fracking projects in Argentina and Saudi Arabia will contribute significantly to global oil demand growth by 2030. Despite environmental concerns, many nations are prioritizing energy security over climate considerations.
