Libya and Jordan Enhance Military Cooperation through Haftar's Visit to Amman

DEFENSE

Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, Deputy Commander of the Libyan Armed Forces, visited Amman, Jordan, to enhance military cooperation and coordination between the two nations. The visit followed prior discussions led by Lieutenant General Khairi Al-Tamimi a month earlier and focused on joint military training, technical and medical services, and a new training program for Libyan officers in Jordanian military academies this year.

Joint military exercises involving the Armed Forces and the Jordanian Arab Army were also discussed, with dates to be agreed upon later. The talks aimed to build alliances responsive to regional shifts and to strengthen national security amid escalating tensions.

Cooperation included military and security training, counter-terrorism efforts, and border security. The discussions were seen as a commitment to unify approaches to Arab security issues and to leverage Jordanian expertise in developing a professional Libyan military institution.
