Libya and Türkiye Strengthen Economic Ties with New Infrastructure and Energy Partnerships
Libya and Türkiye are enhancing their economic partnership, with Turkish firms securing new contracts in infrastructure and energy during the Libya Energy and Economic Summit. Libya's Prime Minister's Initiatives and Strategic Projects Committee head, Mustafa Al-Manea, announced plans for increased oil production and a tender for oil and natural gas exploration, emphasizing Türkiye's critical role as a strategic trading partner. Both nations committed to expanding cooperation and improving Libya's investment climate at the 22nd Türkiye-Libya Joint Economic Committee meeting.

Libya's Prime Minister's Initiatives and Strategic Projects Committee head, Mustafa Al-Manea, affirmed Türkiye's status as a strategic trading partner and significant exporter during the Libya Energy and Economic Summit. He highlighted ongoing partnerships in infrastructure and energy, noting that Turkish firms have renewed contracts and secured new agreements for projects such as airports and roads.
At the 22nd Türkiye-Libya Joint Economic Committee meeting, both countries committed to expanding economic cooperation and addressing longstanding issues. Libya launched a tender for oil and natural gas exploration in November 2025, with Turkish firms being the primary applicants.
Libya aims to increase oil production to 1.6 million barrels per day in the short term, leveraging Turkish expertise in both traditional and renewable energy sectors. Al-Manea emphasized Libya's transition to a more investment-friendly environment, underscoring the importance of its relationship with Türkiye.
