Lieutenant Commander Liam Whitfeld has returned to Plymouth, UK, after an eight-month deployment with HMS Richmond in the Indo-Pacific, where he participated in Exercise Talisman Sabre and trained on advanced sonar systems for future Hunter-class frigates. He was awarded the Herbert Lott Award for developing a tool to enhance surface-to-air missile capabilities against drones, which has since been implemented across the Royal Navy fleet.
