LightPath Technologies Secures $11M for Counter-Drone Camera Supply
LightPath Technologies has obtained an $11 million follow-on order for infrared cameras aimed at counter-drone systems. This order highlights the increasing demand for advanced drone detection solutions in defense and public safety sectors.

LightPath Technologies has secured an $11 million order to provide infrared cameras for counter-uncrewed aerial systems from an undisclosed global technology company. This contract builds on previous agreements and follows a $9.6 million contract received in February for cooled infrared cameras, and a $2.2 million contract from L3Harris Technologies for the US Navy.
The infrared cameras will transition from germanium optical lenses to LightPath's proprietary BlackDiamond material, reducing reliance on germanium amid supply uncertainties due to China's export restrictions. Production is ongoing in Florida and New Hampshire, with deliveries scheduled throughout this year.
