The Lincoln Airport is undertaking a $100 million multi-year reconstruction of Runway 18/36, one of the nation's longest runways. This project is crucial for military readiness, economic growth, and supports various aviation operations.

The Lincoln Airport is investing approximately $100 million to reconstruct Runway 18/36, a 12,901-foot runway vital for military and civilian aircraft. Funded through federal, state, and local partnerships, this project will modernize the runway and enhance capabilities for commercial air service, military operations, and emergency responses.
Construction will occur in three phases, with Phases 1 and 2 expected to conclude by the end of 2026, allowing partial reopening. Full completion is anticipated by fall 2027. The runway will support aircraft like the C-5 Galaxy and E-4B Nightwatch, ensuring continued mission readiness and national defense.
