Lithuania to Receive HIMARS and Air Defense Systems in 2026 Military Budget Expansion

Lithuania will receive its first HIMARS rocket artillery battery and NASAMS air defense systems in 2026. Defence Minister Robertas Kaunas confirmed that over 200 million euros will be invested in counter-drone systems, with 2 billion euros allocated for military equipment acquisitions this year.
The first Giraffe short-range radars are expected in spring, with TwinVis passive radars arriving later. The Baltic defense line project aims to strengthen border security through infrastructure improvements and obstacle deployment by 2030, including anti-personnel and naval mines.
