LNG Canada Achieves 1 Million Metric Tons Export in April
LNG Canada exported over 1 million metric tons of LNG in April, marking a significant milestone for the facility. The plant, which is still ramping up, primarily supplied Asian markets, with South Korea as the main destination.

In April, LNG Canada exported its first million metric tons of LNG in a single month, primarily to Asia. More than half of the shipments were directed to South Korea, with one cargo delivered to China.
The Qingcheng tanker completed a three-week journey from Canada to the Dongjiakou terminal in China on April 24. The facility has a designed capacity of 14 million metric tons annually, though it is currently not operating at full capacity since beginning production in June. This milestone underscores the strategic importance of LNG Canada in accessing the Asian market amid changing trade dynamics, especially with China's pivot away from U.S. imports following sanctions.
