LNG Sentinel I Wins International Tug & Salvage Tug of the Year 2025 Award in Hong Kong
LNG Sentinel I, a dual-fuel tugboat owned by Hongkong Salvage & Towage Services, received the International Tug & Salvage Tug of the Year 2025 Award at a gala in Antwerp, Belgium. Designed by Robert Allan Ltd and built by Cheoy Lee Shipyards, the 42-meter tug features an advanced LNG-diesel electric propulsion system and supports Hong Kong's largest floating storage and regasification unit. The vessel is part of a commitment to operational efficiency and reduced emissions, aligning with the region's push for green maritime technologies.

LNG Sentinel I, a dual-fuel tugboat, won the International Tug & Salvage Tug of the Year 2025 Award at a gala in Antwerp, Belgium, in May 2025. Owned by Hongkong Salvage & Towage Services, it supports the largest floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) in Hong Kong.
The 42-meter tug, designed by Robert Allan Ltd and built by Cheoy Lee Shipyards, features an advanced LNG-diesel electric propulsion system and a maximum bollard pull of 115 tonnes. LNG Sentinel I and its sister vessel, LNG Sentinel II, are tasked with providing emergency services, traffic surveillance, and assisting LNG carriers at the terminal. These tugs are engineered for operational efficiency and reduced emissions, aligning with Hong Kong's strategy to promote green technologies in the maritime sector.
