Lockheed Martin Demonstrates 90º Vertical Launch of JAGM at Navy League 2026
Lockheed Martin showcased a 90º vertical launch capability for the JAGM missile using the JAGM Quad Launcher, enhancing counter-UAS operations. This advancement allows for missile deployment from previously restricted platforms, increasing tactical flexibility in maritime operations.

Lockheed Martin confirmed the successful demonstration of a 90º vertical launch of the Joint-Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) from its JAGM Quad Launcher (JQL) on April 16. Conducted at China Lake, California, this event precedes the Navy League Sea Air Space 2026 exposition.
The JAGM missile features a millimeter-wave doppler radar and a dual-mode seeker that includes a semi-active laser. The new vertical launch capability allows operators to engage targets, such as unmanned aerial systems, without requiring a clear forward firing arc. This is significant for enhancing counter-UAS capabilities to protect military assets.
