Lockheed Martin Launches UK Technology Roadmaps Initiative with MTC Partnership
Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works division has initiated a UK-focused Technology Roadmaps initiative, becoming a Tier 1 partner of the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC). The program aims to enhance advanced defense capabilities in the UK by collaborating with SMEs, government, and academia, focusing on areas like AI, autonomy, and advanced materials. This initiative follows Lockheed's recent projects in the UK, including the TIQUILA aerial system for the British Army, and aims to boost supply chain resilience and economic growth.

Lockheed Martin has launched a Technology Roadmaps initiative in the UK, guided by its Skunk Works division, and joined the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) as a Tier 1 partner. This initiative aims to enhance defense capabilities through collaboration with small and medium-sized enterprises, government, and academia, focusing on artificial intelligence, autonomy, and advanced materials.
Initial efforts will utilize existing technologies while fostering long-term innovation. Lockheed's UK operations contribute approximately £2 billion to the economy and support 26,000 jobs. The initiative also aligns with recent projects, including the TIQUILA uncrewed aerial system for the British Army.
