Lockheed Martin Secures $700 Million Contract for Additional F-35s for Denmark
Denmark plans to expand its fleet of F-35A Lightning II jets to 43, with Lockheed Martin awarded a $700 million contract for production. This contract includes funding for the 20th and 21st production lots. Denmark has contributed $306 million as an industrial partner, with remaining funds from another country via the Foreign Military Sales program. Production is expected to conclude by 2030. Denmark's initial order included 27 jets, with 17 delivered so far. An additional 16 jets are planned, enhancing Denmark's air defense capabilities.

Lockheed Martin has received a $700 million contract from the U.S. Department of Defense for additional F-35A Lightning II jets for Denmark, which plans to expand its fleet to 43 aircraft. The contract finances the first production phases for components of the 20th and 21st production lots.

An announcement in October 2025 indicated Denmark's intention to purchase an additional 16 jets, aimed at supporting national air defense and NATO operations. Danish F-35A jets have been combat-ready since April 2025 from Skrydstrup Air Base.
