L&T Metro Rail Opens 1.2 MW Solar Plant at Uppal Depot, Increasing Capacity to 12.41 MWp
L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) inaugurated a 1.2 MWp solar power plant at Uppal depot, raising total capacity to 12.41 MWp. The solar installations now contribute approximately 16% of Hyderabad Metro Rail's energy consumption, up from 14%. Chief Electrical Inspector D.V.S. Raju, along with L&T Metro officials, inspected the facility and emphasized the importance of minimizing operational failures.

L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) inaugurated its second solar power plant of 1.2 MWp at Uppal depot, increasing the total installed solar capacity to 12.41 MWp. This new installation raises the contribution of solar energy to about 16% of overall energy consumption, up from 14%.
Chief Electrical Inspector D.V.S. Raju inspected the facility alongside other officials. He also evaluated advanced test benches designed for analyzing metro rolling stock components and encouraged efforts to achieve zero-level failures for reliable operations.
