Luna Robotics has developed a night-vision camera system for drones to detect smuggling balloons, funded independently after not qualifying for a government innovation contest. The camera enhances nighttime drone operations, providing operators with navigation cues.

The technology was tested with the Lithuanian military, which expressed interest in further collaboration. The Ministry of Economy has a €1 million competition for solutions to counter smuggling balloons, with three companies selected for consortia.

The ministry is expected to announce the effectiveness of this investment soon. Luna Robotics did not participate due to eligibility issues.
