Macron's G7 Goals Meet China's Indifference Amid India-France Strategic Growth
The G7 summit, under French leadership, aims to address macroeconomic imbalances and global governance, but China shows little interest in engaging. India's participation highlights its strategic partnership with France amid rising geopolitical tensions.

The G7 summit hosted by France is set to focus on reducing macroeconomic imbalances and enhancing global governance. However, China has expressed disinterest in engaging with G7 discussions, delegating a vice-PM to the call, which diminishes the issue's perceived importance.
In contrast, France has called on five EU nations for enhanced trade defenses against China, as the EU's trade deficit with China reached €360 billion. Concurrently, India will participate in the G7 summit and has developed a 'Special Global Strategic Partnership' with France, focusing on technology and innovation.
Modi's visit includes engagements with French business leaders and participation in key tech events. This partnership is underpinned by extensive defense cooperation, including the Rafale jets and Scorpene submarines, strengthening ties amid global uncertainties.
